Susie Jeanette Glasgow Bounds, 80, of Halifax passed away Friday, September 23, 2011 in her home surrounded by her loved ones. She was born July 7, 1931 in Halifax County and lived there until her death.

Jeanette loved putting puzzles together with her mother, daughter and sister and her nieces – Gwen and “Sister”. She loved singing old songs and knew them all. Her life was filled with jokes and laughter. Jeanette cared for many people in her lifetime and was there when anyone called her. She made great memories for her loved ones.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis C. Glasgow and Ethel Dickens Glasgow; her husband, Kemper G. Bounds; her sister, Margaret Inabinett; her brother, Louis E. “Bud” Glasgow; and her son, Philip E. Bounds.

Jeanette is survived by her two sons, Craig G. Bounds of Winterville, and his daughter Brittany; and Steven L. Bounds of the home and his daughters Nicole Shearin and her husband, Mike, Allyson Bounds and Natalie Bounds; her daughter, Adele B. Harvey of Roanoke Rapids and her children, Heather Labrecque and her husband, Gary, Scott Pickett and his wife, Kim and Kristen Harvey; her granddaughter, Lisa Gooden; six great-grandchildren; two special uncles, Allen and Grady Dickens; daughter-in-law Leigh Eure; and a special friend, JoAnn S. Braddy.

Memorial graveside services will be held Sunday, September 25, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Cedarwood Cemetery in Weldon with Rev. Grady Dickens officiating. The family will receive friends at the home at 50 Memory Lane in Halifax.
